Discover Las Palmas Kissimmee

If you’re driving along East Vine Street and craving bold Cuban and Latin flavors, Las Palmas Kissimmee at 1133 E Vine St, Kissimmee, FL 34744, United States, is the kind of spot you don’t want to miss. I stopped in on a humid Florida afternoon after hearing several locals rave about their roast pork, and honestly, the aroma alone told me I’d made the right decision. The dining room felt relaxed and welcoming, with families sharing platters and regulars greeting the staff by name. That first impression matters, and here it sets the tone for everything else.

The menu leans heavily into traditional Cuban cuisine, with a few broader Latin American favorites woven in. I ordered the classic lechón asado with moros y cristianos and sweet plantains. The pork was tender and marinated deeply, clearly prepared using a slow-roasting method that allows the citrus-garlic mojo to soak through the meat. This isn’t rushed cooking. It’s the kind of process chefs talk about when they explain how low, steady heat breaks down connective tissue and keeps meat juicy. According to the National Pork Board, slow roasting at controlled temperatures preserves both moisture and flavor, and you can taste that technique in every bite here.

On another visit, I tried the Cuban sandwich, a staple in Central Florida’s food scene. The balance between roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard was spot on. Pressed just enough to crisp the bread without drying out the filling, it delivered that perfect crunch followed by savory richness. A friend of mine who grew up in Miami joined me that day, and he mentioned that it reminded him of the small cafeterias in Little Havana. That’s a strong endorsement, considering how fiercely people defend their favorite Cuban spots.

The portions are generous, which is something many reviews highlight, and I can confirm it firsthand. Most plates are easily shareable, especially if you add sides like yuca with garlic sauce or a bowl of black bean soup. Speaking of soup, their version has a deep, earthy flavor that reflects proper simmering time. Beans, when cooked slowly, release starches that create a natural thickness without heavy cream. It’s a simple culinary principle, but one that separates average kitchens from experienced ones.

What also stands out is consistency. I’ve visited during both lunch rush and quieter midweek evenings, and the food quality remained steady. In the restaurant industry, consistency is often cited by experts from the National Restaurant Association as one of the main drivers of repeat customers. Watching how the kitchen operates-orders called clearly, plates assembled efficiently-it’s obvious there’s a system in place. That kind of organization builds trust with diners.

Location-wise, being on East Vine Street makes it convenient whether you’re a Kissimmee local or visiting nearby attractions. Parking is straightforward, and the restaurant’s accessibility adds to its appeal for families. I’ve noticed a mix of tourists and long-time residents, which says a lot about its reputation. When a place can satisfy both groups, it’s usually doing something right.

Pricing feels fair for the portion size and quality. You’re not paying theme-park prices, yet the flavors are authentic and carefully prepared. Online reviews often mention friendly service, and in my experience, the staff are attentive without hovering. On one occasion, I asked about the difference between two seafood dishes, and the server took the time to explain how one was stewed in a tomato-based sauce while the other featured a lighter garlic and olive oil preparation. That clarity shows product knowledge, which always enhances the dining experience.

Of course, like any busy local diner, wait times can stretch during peak hours. If you’re planning a weekend visit, arriving a bit earlier helps. Still, the overall experience-from the comforting aroma of roast meats to the satisfying weight of a well-filled plate-makes it worth the trip. For anyone exploring Kissimmee’s dining scene and searching for authentic Cuban flavors, this address on East Vine Street delivers hearty meals, reliable service, and a menu rooted in tradition.

  • Nice location, service, food, and drinks were great. The place was very clean, including the restroom. I need to mention that some of the waitstaff do not speak English, so be aware if you don't speak Spanish. I did, so it was easy to communicate, and my server was amazing

  • The food is very good but their forte is their persona. Incredibly friendly and welcoming. The place is very good! I tried a ‘Limonada Coco’ with a twist made by Adriana and it’s too much, just too good.
